Seward, AK—On Oct. 17, 2018, about 200 Pioneers from around the state of Alaska converged on the tiny beautiful town of Seward for the 102nd Pioneer of Alaska Convention. A 3-day event, the Fairbanks Igloos were represented by about 30 or so Pioneers who attended despite the exaggerated rumors of a flooded Seward. Hosted by both the Men’s Igloo 9 and Women’s Igloo 9, it was an incredible event.
Representatives and delegates from most of the 32 Igloos met to discuss the future of the organization and to reconnect with each other. The fascinating history of Seward was imparted in grand fashion, our Constitution was amended, reports from each igloo were made, passed members were honored and new Grand Igloo officers were initiated.
In addition to the business of the Pioneers, were reconnection with old friends and the making of new ones.
