We are the Pioneers of Alaska Fairbanks, a fraternal membership organization of 20+ year residents of the State of Alaska. Our mission is to preserve the names of Alaska's pioneers on its rolls; collect and preserve the literature and incidents of Alaskas history and to promote the best interests of Alaska. What personal data we collect and why we collect it


You can visit this web site without giving us any information about yourself. The software logs and cookies we use monitor the use of Pioneers of Alaska Fairbanks for general statistical purposes only and none of the information we gather in this way can be used to identify any individual who visits the site. Contact forms are available on this site to provide a method to contact the Pioneers of Alaska Fairbanks. We keep contact form submissions for as long as necessary to provide the information requested and to complete a dialog but we do not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes.

The data you share on our site is private. We do not share any information with anyone outside of our organization.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

This website has protection services provided by to prevent and protect the site and its users from data breaches and attacks. Our site is constantly being scanned and monitored for any irregularities and will be mitigated immediately if detected.

If you register for the membership portion of this site:

  • you can always access, change or delete the information you provide;
  • we will only send you emails that let you know when somebody responds to your question or comments on the site;
  • your personal details will only be used by the Pioneers of Alaska.

When you register we ask for certain information from you (e.g. email address, location, username). We will only use this information:

  • for administration procedures, such as verifying your membership for an account and for when you need a replacement password;
  • to contact you about a submission you have made to the website, including any content you provide;
  • to update our membership roster and newsletter subscriptions;
  • to provide contact info to other members who have an account on the member site;
  • to monitor site statistics.

Industry regulatory disclosure requirements

Plugin: Smush

Smush sends images to the WPMU DEV servers to optimize them for web use. This includes the transfer of EXIF data. The EXIF data will either be stripped or returned as it is. It is not stored on the WPMU DEV servers.

Smush uses a third-party email service (Drip) to send informational emails to the site administrator. The administrator's email address is sent to Drip and a cookie is set by the service. Only administrator information is collected by Drip.
